If you're a fan of 'Planet of the Apes,' then August 5 won't come soon enough for Fox's 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes,' which stars James Franco, Freida Pinto, John Lithgow, Andy Serkis and Brian Cox in a prequel that explains how the apes got their intelligence -- and how they took over the world.

The trailers that have been released so far have been pretty exciting and have certainly whetted our appetite for the film. Now Fox has released a clip, hosted by Serkis, that shows a scene where the chimp Caesar (Serkis) comes to the aid of Charles (John Lithgow), who helped raise Caesar but who is now suffering from Alzheimer's.

Here's the official run down on the film; check out the clip after the jump.
Rise of the Apes is a completely new take on one of 20th Century Fox's most beloved and successful franchises. Oscar-winning visual effects house Weta Digital -- employing certain of the groundbreaking technologies developed for 'Avatar' -- will render, for the first time ever in the film series, photo-realistic apes rather than costumed actors.

'Rise of the Apes' is an origin story in the truest sense of the term. Set in present day San Francisco, the film is a reality-based cautionary tale, a science fiction/science fact blend, where man's own experiments with genetic engineering lead to the development of intelligence in apes and the onset of a war for supremacy.
