What happens in Vegas -- becomes a major motion picture.

Deadline reports that Summit Entertainment has acquired the screen rights to John Huddy's 2008 book 'Storming Las Vegas: How a Cuban-Born, Soviet-Trained Commando Took Down the Strip to the Tune of Five World Class Hotels, Three Armored Cars, and Millions of Dollars,' and has tapped action director Antoine Fuqua to helm the film.

The title pretty much says it all: In the late 1990s, Jose Vigoa and a small crew embarked on a violent 16-month crime wave targeting Vegas' most prominent institutions; Lt. John Alamshaw, a 23-year veteran of the Las Vegas Police Force, was charged with tracking down the men without undue publicity that might tarnish the new, family-oriented image that the city was trying to establish. (Vigoa was caught and sentenced to more than 500 years in prison).
