'Scott Pilgrim vs. the World' may have flopped miserably at the box office, but it lives on with new cult film status: It debuts Friday, September 23 as the midnight movie of choice at L.A.'s New Beverly Cinema.
That's the theater owned by Quentin Tarantino, a man who knows a thing or two about cult movies.
'Scott Pilgrim' was the talk of Comic-Con, but performed so badly in its theatrical run that it was blamed for the studio pullout that happened the next year.
But love for the gaming fantasy lives on. Overheard this year at Comic-Con: "That's the fourth Ramona Flowers I've seen today." (True, a pink wig is a pretty easy costume.)
Dressing in costume will be welcome, we're pretty sure. Bringing your own flaming sword? Probably not.
