For Martin Sheen, his latest role was a family affair in more ways than one. The Hollywood icon stars in 'The Way' (out Oct. 7), a drama about a father (Sheen) who travels overseas to recover the body of his estranged son, a trekker who died while walking the El Camino de Santiago between Spain and France. What makes 'The Way' special is that Sheen's onscreen son is played by his real-life offspring Emilio Estevez, who also wrote and directed the new film. Ahead, watch the first clip from 'The Way,' which focuses on Sheen's grieving father, and the lengths he goes to understand his dearly departed son.
