Score one for the females. Following a slew of rumors, Deadline has finally confirmed that Patty Jenkins will direct 'Thor 2.' Jenkins is best known for her work on 'Monster,' the 2003 movie starring Charlize Theron, who went on to win an Oscar for her role as serial killer Aileen Wuornos. Jenkins may seem like a strange choice -- and not just because most superhero films are directed by men: 'Monster' isn't exactly superhero fodder obviously, but Marvel has done unorthodox before. After all, the first 'Thor,' which grossed almost $500 million worldwide, was directed by Kenneth Branagh -- best known for his Shakespeare work. Still, fans will most likely be very curious to know what Jenkins will do with 'Thor 2,' which hits theaters Nov., 13, 2013 (moved back from the original July 26, 2013 release).
