Good news, Uggie fans! The scene-stealing Jack Russell terrier from "The Artist" will walk the red carpet at the Golden Globes.

According to Deadline's Pete Hammond, Uggie was given credentials for both the red carpet and the Golden Globes ballroom -- a bit of access that was easier said than done. After all, the Golden Globes are in the midst of a seating crunch, and Uggie's trainer had to be given a seat too. Per Hammond, the trainer and Uggie were both asked to provide pictures for photo IDs -- can't have any impostor Uggies trying to crash the party. (Sorry, Cosmo the dog from "Beginners.")

Despite the fact that "The Artist" has only earned just below $9 million since its limited release last November, Uggie has become a worldwide phenomenon. There's a Twitter account and a Facebook page devoted to Uggie's underground Oscar campaign. Unfortunately, the Jack Russell is ineligible for awards consideration.

Starring Uggie, as well as human actors Jean Dujardin, Berenice Bejo and John Goodman, "The Artist" is expected to take home a good amount of Globes during the ceremonies on Sunday evening. The Weinstein Company release is also a front-runner for Best Picture at the Academy Awards next month.
