The anticipation for Ridley Scott's long-awaited sci-fi return is so great that it's reaching meta-proportions.

Capitalizing on the film's buzz, Fox has released a trailer for the trailer of "Prometheus." (A similar tactic was used to promote the film back in December.) But there's good reason for such fervor, it marks the end of Scott's 30-year hiatus from science fiction flicks.

There has been mass-speculation that "Prometheus" would be loosely related to Scott's 1979 hit, "Alien." The director has, ever cryptically, spoken out about the possibility of his newest serving as a prequel/sequel to the classic.

"Prometheus," which follows a team who travels to the darkest ends of the Earth in search of the origins of mankind, stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Guy Pearce and Idris Elba.

The actual trailer is set to hit the web on March 17 but, to whet your extraterrestrial appetite, check out the 20 second teaser above.

Prometheus' hits theaters on June 8.
