This was a big week for sci-fi fans: both "Blade Runner" and "John Carpenter's The Thing" celebrated their 30th anniversaries -- on the same day.

Sadly, time travel is not a reality (yet), so there's no way to experience the thrill of sitting in a darkened movie theater on June 25, 1982. To help quell some of the jealous rage over the movie geeks savvy enough to do a double-bill on that day, here is thirty years worth of awesome fan art, inspired by the twin coolness of "Blade Runner" and "The Thing."

Our sister site, ComicsAlliance, makes a habit of spotlighting particular artists and/or specific bodies of work. For more awesome fan art, check out their feature Best Art Ever (This Week).
