Earlier this week, "The Amazing Spider-Man" swung into theaters (and swung out with a boatload of cash), winning over critics and fans. But no matter what you thought of the newest adventures of your favorite web-slinger, one thing's for sure: Andrew Garfield, who plays Peter Parker, knocks his New York accent right out of the park.

For those who don't know, Garfield is British (he was born in California to a British mother and American father, and raised in England), but that hasn't stopped the 28-year-old actor, who first sparked stateside attention in David Fincher's "The Social Network," from pulling off a flawless American accent.

Obviously, Garfield is far from the only non-American to successfully do this. From Russell Crowe to Idris Elba, there are plenty of actors out there who can speak like a Yankee -- sometimes well enough to confuse audiences into thinking they're actually from the United States.
