If you've seen previews for "The Watch" you've probably thought "Oh yeah! Ben Stiller! Vince Vaughn! Jonah Hill! And... some other guy... with glasses!" That guy with glasses just happens to be Richard Ayoade. Who is Richard Ayoade? you may be asking. Moviefone has the full rundown on the breakout star of this weekend's big release. Who is Richard Ayoade? He's a 35-year-old British comedian who got his break writing and performing in several stage shows. He won the UK's top comedy award for co-writing and starring in "Garth Marenghi's Netherhead," which premiered at the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Festival. After the show was developed for the BBC, he became a fixture in the British comedy scene, writing, directing and acting in several programs.

In 2010, he made his feature debut writing and directing the '80s-set romantic teen comedy "Submarine." The film, about an awkward Welsh boy who falls for a troubled girl, played at Sundance, the Toronto International Film Festival and netted Ayoade a nomination for Outstanding Debut at the British Academy Awards. It also happened to be produced by his "Watch" co-star Ben Stiller, who loved Ayoade's "very wry, cynical sense of humor."

Who Does He Play in "The Watch"? He plays Jamarcus, an affable Brit and newcomer to the neighborhood, who is hoping to get involved with the community; he's very friendly and sweet.

How Do You Pronounce That Last Name? Eye-Oh-Wah-Day.

Where Else Can I See Him? Ayoade's biggest claim to fame was starring in "The IT Crowd," an office sitcom set inside the IT department of a London-based corporation (think somewhere between "The Office" and "The Big Bang Theory"). He played the brilliant but socially inept Maurice, alongside actor Chris O'Dowd, the Irish hunk of "Bridesmaids." It went on to become a huge hit with critics and audiences; NBC even attempted to remake it for America, keeping Ayoade intact for the new version, but it never got past the pilot stage.

Ayoade is also busy filming his follow-up to "Submarine" entitled "The Double," which stars Jesse Eisenberg and Mia Wasikowska.

The show that gave him his big break, "Garth Marenghi's Darkplace," was a parody presented as a lost horror classic (but was really a low-budget '80s cheesefest). After it became a huge cult hit, it aired on the Sci-Fi Channel and Adult Swim in the States. His character on the show, Dean Learner, was given his own spinoff talk show called "Man to Man with Dean Learner." Above all else, Ayoade performed this hilarious rap from "Darkplace's" viral hit "One Track Lover."
