Guillermo del Toro's highly anticipated monsters vs. robots movie, "Pacific Rim" finally has a trailer.

The premise is fairly straightforward: a portal between dimensions appears in the Pacific Ocean, unleashing all sorts of hellish creatures onto our planet, stomping anything and anyone that gets in their way. To fight back, humans create a group of gigantic super robots to tangle with these monsters.

Footage for the film first debuted back in July at Comic-Con, at a panel that included del Toro, along with stars Idris Elba, Ron Perlman, Charlie Hunnam and Charlie Day.

"A movie like this, it's easy to forget how unique you can make it, and I didn't want to forget," Del Toro told the AP at the annual pop culture convention. "I wanted to make the movie not a war movie but an adventure movie."

You can watch the full trailer in the clip above (the HD version is available over on Apple). "Pacific RIm" is set to hit theaters on July 12, 2013.
