Stephenie Meyer has chosen her favourite: she's picking "The Host" over the "Twilight" books.

Meyer, the author of the mega-successful teen vampire books that later became a five-film franchise, said during a press tour for the new film "The Host" that her sci-fi novel about an alien species that inhabits human bodies is both her favourite novel and her favourite film.

"I'm a sci-fi girl, that's my style, I love that," she told Moviefone Canada.

Starring Saoirse Ronan, Diane Kruger and Max Irons, the movie is the first follow-up to Meyer's box-office juggernaut series "Twilight." Buzz is starting to build around the film, so the pressure's on to see if audiences like it as much as Meyer.

Full interview to come (closer to the film's release date), where Meyer gives us full details on "The Host" and her "Twilight" days. Check back on Moviefone Canada in about one month.

"The Host" opens in theatres on March 27, 2013.
