Daniel Radcliffe's next starring role could be in "Harry Potter and the Dirty Diapers." The 23-year-old actor revealed in a recent interview that he wants to have kids, and soon, so he can be a young dad who takes interest and plays an active part in his children's lives.
"I'd like to get started on it before my 30s," Radcliffe told Time Out: London, in an interview set to be published in its next issue. "I like the idea of being a youngish parent so I've got energy to play football, even though they'll be better than me by the time they're four."
And while the actor said he was "definitely going to be one of those parents who pushes their kids into things" -- but "not the film industry"-- he joked that his diminutive height might pose a challenge for his potentially athletic-minded children.
"I will have to find a very tall wife if they're going to be good at sports," Radcliffe said. "You could be my size as a boxer, you'd just have to be a super featherweight or something."
All kidding aside, Radcliffe said the urge to become a parent first sprang to mind when he was a child himself, watching his adult co-stars go through the process.
"I saw the wonderful change in them," he said. "I see that it gives you a sense of purpose that up till now I only really get from work. I want that [purpose]."
We're pretty sure that when the time comes, Radcliffe will be a great dad -- he's got plenty of practice at playing pretend. And starring in one of the most successful franchises of all time has got to earn you major cool parent points, too.
