In the days since the teaser trailer for "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" hit the internet, YouTube has been overflowing with videos of fans reacting to the clip. Now, a trio of actors from the film have made their own reaction to one of those videos in a gesture of support for the rabid Hobbit fan community.
In the video, posted by Peter Jackson on his Facebook page, Lee Pace, Orlando Bloom, and Evangeline Lilly -- in costume as Thranduil, Legolas, and Tauriel, respectively -- watch the clip posted by two YouTube users known as the Happy Hobbit, where the girls freak out over the trailer, screaming, laughing, and even crying as they take in the action.
"That is an Elven stare if ever I've seen one," Bloom says as he watches the girls watch the trailer in rapt, slack-jawed attention.
"This may be more intense than the trailer," agrees Lilly.
It's a sweet gesture by the actors -- and Jackson -- to show that they're aware of what the fans are saying about the film, no doubt reminding them of how important they are to moviegoers. And we're sure the girls of the Happy Hobbit are more than happy after seeing their heroes' reaction to them -- just check out their own reaction to the reaction to the reaction. (Is that meta enough?)
"People are calling this Hobbit-ception for a reason," said one of the girls, who calls herself Kili after one of the "Hobbit" dwarves. " ... We are so thankful for your support, and if we can give back an ounce of the joy that you give us through all of your hard work, then we're more than happy to play the part of the fool and have you laugh at us."
