Last week, it looked like "Dumb and Dumber To" was heading for the glue factory. This week, the sequel to the Farrelly Brothers' slapstick comedy is back in action, thanks to Universal Pictures and Red Granite.
Peter and Bobby Farrelly announced the news via Twitter on June 18:
The Farrellys sure sound psyched about it, but what about its busy stars, Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels, who are set to reprise their roles as Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne? According to The Hollywood Reporter, filming may begin as early as this summer, which could prove tricky considering Carrey is attached to two movies in development, "Ricky Stanicky" and "Loomis Fargo" (although it's not clear when the latter will go into production), and he'll be promoting "Kick-Ass 2," which comes out this August. Meanwhile, Jeff Daniels has HBO's "The Newsroom" on his plate.
The Hollywood Reporter adds that the film could be released around the same time as the 20th anniversary of "Dumb and Dumber" -- in December 2014 -- which makes us feel old and older.
