The adventures of Indiana Jones (and his dad) still hold a special place in the hearts of action fans.
"Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" (1989), the third movie in the highly successful Indiana Jones franchise, was voted the all-time best action sequel in Moviefone's Summer Sequel Smackdown 2013. It was Indy vs. Arnold, as "Last Crusade" went head-to-head with James Cameron juggernaut "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" (1991) in the final round, but the Harrison Ford-starring, Nazi-filled father-son escapade drew enough fans to easily outpace the T-1000.
During the action genre bracket, which ran from May 27 through June 23, action genre enthusiasts logged tens of thousands of votes, coming back week after week to make sure their top pick moved on to the next round. Over the course of those four weeks, fans' votes cut 16 movies down to eight, then to four, then to the final two, "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" and "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade."
Congratulations, Indy fans! "Last Crusade" earned the holy grail of sequel honors: being voted the best action sequel of all time (for now).
