Helen Mirren is an Oscar winner, can boast of a storied four-decade-long career, and is still considered one of the sexiest women in Hollywood at the age of 67. Basically, young starlets would do well to emulate her.
While promoting her upcoming action movie "Red 2," La Mirren had some mature, sage advice for troubled 20-something actresses like Lindsay Lohan and Amanda Bynes.
"I don't know if you're allowed to say this on television," she said. "But don't be up your own bum."
Hear that, LiLo? Make sure to write it down, Amanda!
"People get up their own [bum], and you really don't need to," Mirren continued. "It's the thing of the young. Just don't do that."
Mirren's talked before about how hard your 20s are. In a 2011 issue of Esquire, she called it "the hardest period in one's life."
"It's a shame because you're your most gorgeous and you're physically in peak condition. But it's actually when you're most insecure and full of self-doubt," she said. "When you don't know what's going to happen, it's frightening."
Mirren's words should strike a chord with Misses Lohan and Bynes, neither of whom is a stranger to negative press: Lohan is currently in rehab (yet again), and Bynes has been using Twitter to alternately gush about her plastic surgery and label all of Hollywood "ugly."
"Red 2" hits theaters July 19.
