"Spring Breakers"
What's It About? Four small-town college girls (Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez, Ashley Benson, Rachel Korine) want to -- no, need to -- go on spring break in Miami. They rob to party, they party and get arrested, and they make bail only to land in the hands of a ghetto-talking local white drug lord (a remarkable James Franco).
Why We're IN: Harmony Korine excellently captures college girl culture and youth's craving for chaos in "Spring Breakers" with the right mix of satire, humor, and authenticity. "Spring Breakers" is genius for putting the audience on trial, making you unsure whether to laugh or not as you uncomfortably watch the ludicrousness unravel. If you own this on DVD/Blu-ray you too can have, in the words of James Franco's Alien, "spring break fo-eva."

"The Jerk"
What's It About? In Steve Martin's first starring role in the 1979 comedy "The Jerk" he plays Navin, an idiotic white guy who thinks he's black, thanks to being raised by a poor black family. Through the film Navin strikes it rich with an oddball invention, escapes attacks from a crazy killer, falls for an S&M motorcyclist, and introduces us to all the goofy behavior we've come to love Martin for.
Why We're IN: "The Jerk" is classic Steve Martin humor and reminds us why he was one of the kings of screwball comedy of his time. Plus, what's more entertaining then watching Martin's embarrassing, yet hilarious dance moves?

What's It About? In a story that attempts too much and achieves little, "Admission" follows Princeton admissions officer Portia (Tina Fey) on a college recruitment trip to a high school. At the school Portia learns not only that it's run by former classmate John (Paul Rudd), but that his prodigy student may be her son she gave up for adoption. While this bland comedy stars funny people, they somehow fail to maintain the humor we love them for.

"Dead Man Down"
What's It About?
This crime thriller directed by Niels Arden Oplev (the Swedish version of "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo") stars Noomi Rapace and Colin Ferrell as two strangers drawn together by their love of revenge. Although it has a promising cast, including Terrence Howard and Isabelle Huppert, "Dead Man Down" is a far too serious thriller that has too many cliches and not enough action.

"The Gatekeepers"
What's It About? This riveting and revealing documentary features six former heads of Shin Bet, Israel's secret service agency, publicly sharing their experiences for the first time. Dror Moreh's Oscar nominated film will keep you shocked and contemplative as it sheds light on the concept of modern security and the Israel-Palestine conflict.

"The Host"
What's It About? An alien invades Melanie's (Saoirse Ronan) body and attempts to erase her memory. Melanie fights it, but the two eventually become allies and search for the man they both love. While this sci-fi concept almost sounds interesting, Stephanie Meyer's story is reduced to nothing but sappy teen romance (as expected). This screen adaptation only proves why the author's material shouldn't be made into movies and that Ronan's talent should be saved for better films.

"Tyler Perry's Temptation"
What's It About? This Tyler Perry film is just what you'd expect: a predictable melodrama that evolves into nothing but a dull soap opera. The film follows a married woman down the path of infidelity as she falls for a handsome billionaire. "Temptation" is only worth your time if you enjoy laughing at the filmmaker's failed attempts at drama.

"The Life Of Oharu" Criterion Collection
What's It About? A middle-aged prostitute in 17th century Japan reflects on her life of servitude and rejection by both her lovers and family. This 1952 classic by Kenji Mizoguchi is a Japanese masterpiece that beautifully examines class and female degradation of a historica era in Japan.
