The link between ancient Greek mythology and the modern world is stronger than ever in a new featurette about "Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters," the follow-up to 2010's "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief."
"We're pretty much like anyone else you will meet, but with a few differences," explains Percy (Logan Lerman) about himself and his fellow demigods -- aka half-human, half-god -- who band together at Camp Half-Blood to battle the dark forces trying to tear the group apart, leading them to the titular Sea of Monsters.
The clip features interviews with cast members sprinkled in among action from the film, including scenes not yet glimpsed in the movie's previous trailers. New characters like Hermes (Nathan Fillion, playing the head of a UPS-like Olympus operation) and Tyson (Douglas Smith, playing Percy's Cyclops half-brother) are introduced, and in addition to all the CGI on display, there's also a few sight gags, including a "chariot of damnation" that's made to look like a New York City cab -- and drives like one, too.
"There's a lot of crazy, fun stuff," Lerman says of the film. Audiences will get their chance to take it all in when "Sea of Monsters" opens August 7.
