Every year, Comic-Con descends on San Diego like some kind of swirling, overly crowded, superhero-infested tropical storm. Whether you've nabbed a pass or you're following it from the comfort of your home and/or cubicle, you'll drive yourself crazy trying to keep track of all of the news coming out of convention. And the sensory overload that accompanies the amazing sights and sounds in and around the convention center (especially in Hall H) is enough to fry your brain -- even after the fact.

So stop the insanity! Thanks to the miracle of Twitter, we've compiled a timeline of our most intriguing, important, jaw-dropping, and just plain cool movie-related moments from San Diego Comic-Con 2013.

It's kind of like a timeline of our descent into madness.

It begins...Well, not without a few necessary supplies.There were adorable costumes......terrifying characters......touchy-feely celebrities......and hard-to-read "Star Wars" icons.At a press conference on Thursday, "Divergent" director Neil Burger left his mark.And all of the "Divergent" stars are excited about a sequel. Well, almost all of them."Divergent" stars Shailene Woodley and Theo James posed for us.Then "Ender's Game" had its time, and star Harrison Ford addressed the author's anti-gay marriage stance.And there was the awkward moment when...Followed by redemption!On Thursday night, Sly and Arnold introduced their new movie, "Escape Plan." You could almost understand everything they said.On Friday morning, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, and director Edgar Wright introduced "The World's End" at Hall H. This pretty much says it all.Later that day, at the "RoboCop" press conference...Our Spidey-sense started tingling, and Andrew Garfield appeared.He also addressed his EW Spider-Man-could-be-gay quote.And director Marc Webb cleared up some tonal confusion about "Amazing Spider-Man 2."On Saturday, Hall H got busy. Oh, hey. It's Tom Cruise.Then this."Man of Steel" director Zack Snyder showed up unannounced, and everyone went crazy.Then they went crazier.You didn't think we'd forget about "Catching Fire," did you?Jennifer Lawrence was, well... Jennifer Lawrence.Fox pulled off a HUGE surprise.Jennifer Lawrence was on that panel, too. Busy lady.Also, these two.Then it was Marvel's turn in Hall H.Loki kicked things off and everyone lost their minds.After watching an impressive "Thor: The Dark World" trailer, we were treated to the cast of "Captain America: The Winter Soldier."The trailer for that one was pretty good, too.Then came the biggest surprise of all.The cast and director of "Guardians of the Galaxy" took the stage.And then this happened, and all of Hall H watched in awe.We thought "Guardians of the Galaxy" would wrap things up, but Marvel wasn't done yet.Joss revealed the title for the 2015 "Avengers" sequel.
