"Romeo and Juliet" has captivated hearts for centuries, and a fresh film adaptation is set to bring the tragic tale of forbidden love to a new generation.

"Downton Abbey" creator Julian Fellowes adapted the familiar story of woe for Carlo Carlei to direct. A new trailer reveals more scenes, which look to be faithful takes on William Shakespeare's classic.

Sixteen-year-old Hailee Steinfeld goes from "True Grit" to true beauty as Juliet Capulet, with Douglas Booth as her star-crossed lover Romeo Montague.

"Oh, Juliet, if your heart like mine is full, then tell the joy that waits us this night," Romeo whispers after meeting the daughter of his family's enemy.

"I cannot tell of what is limitless," a glowing Juliet replies.

Alas, as anybody who read the play in ninth grade knows, this relationship is doomed from the start. "These violent passions can have violent ends," warns Friar Laurence (Paul Giamatti).

"Romeo and Juliet" also stars Damian Lewis, Ed Westwick, Lesley Manville, and Stellan Skarsgard. It bows in theaters October 11.
