openly hearts marijuana, but he won't hold back when it comes to skewering his pal and delivering the laughs. Franco, as Hollywood's only actor-writer-director-student-professor-painter-philosopher, is a walking, talking, self-parodying target; he's basically all bull's-eye.
Is this the end of James Franco?
Last month the "Spring Breakers" actor revealed that he would be getting roasted on Comedy Central, in a special set to debut on Labor Day.
Now Franco has his roast master, and it's none other than his "Pineapple Express," "Freaks and Geeks," and "This Is the End" co-star Seth Rogen, who tweeted the news on Friday.
After Franco made his announcement via a grainy Instagram video, Comedy Central president of content development Kent Alterman joked, "If only James Franco was a more successful, multi-hyphenated, incessant creative risk taker in different media, he'd be the perfect person to roast. Oh well... I suppose we'll just have to make do."
We have no doubt that Rogen will more than make do.
"Comedy Central Roast of James Franco" will tape in L.A. on August 18, and will premiere on September 2 at 10 p.m. on Comedy Central.
