"Into the Woods" has found its Little Red Riding Hood in the form of a little princess.
Sophia Grace Brownlee, who stars with her younger cousin in the viral video sensation "Sophia Grace and Rosie," will play the fairy-tale character in director Rob Marshall's upcoming feature film adaptation of the Stephen Sondheim musical. In addition to her YouTube fame, the 10-year-old Brit has also made several appearances on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."
"Woods" weaves together several classic fairy tales, including characters like Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf (Johnny Depp), Cinderella (Anna Kendrick), and Jack of beanstalk fame ("Les Miserables" star Daniel Huttlestone). All those and more meet a couple, played by James Corden and Emily Blunt, who venture into the titular woods to make a deal with an evil witch (Meryl Streep) in order to conceive a child.
"Into the Woods" is due out on Christmas Day 2014.
