Ron Burgundy bragged about having many leather-bound books in his mahogany-scented apartment, and now the "Anchorman" hero can add his own title to the collection.
Burgundy is set to pen a memoir called "Let Me Off at the Top! My Classy Life and Other Musings," timed to be released ahead of the long-awaited "Anchorman" sequel, "Anchorman: The Legend Continues." While Burgundy's impressive on-screen exploits are many, he is fictional; it's unclear who exactly will be writing the book in his name, though Burgundy will have sole author credit.
The autobiography, to be published by the Crown Archetype imprint of Random House's Crown Publishing Group, will "offer a rare glimpse behind the camera into the real life of a man many consider to be our greatest living news anchor," according to a press release. The same release added that Burgundy will "share personal anecdotes about the women in his life, about his dog, Baxter, and his legendary news team. Along the way, he'll also give sage advice on a variety of topics that matter most to him."
"I don't know if it's the greatest autobiography ever written," Burgundy said in a statement. "I'm too close to the work."
We're guessing it will be compelling and rich, and above all, classy. The book will be released November 19. "Anchorman: The Legend Continues" hits theaters December 20.
