Hugh Jackman in 'The Wolverine'20th Century Fox

Comic book author Mark Millar has had to do a bit of a reversal over the last couple of days, saying his comments about a potential "Fantastic Four" and "X-Men" crossover were misconstrued.

While promoting his latest film, "Kick-Ass 2," Millar discussed his role as a creative consultant on "X-Men: Days of Future Past" and the upcoming reboot of the "Fantastic Four" franchise. Asked by British magazine SFX about the possibility of those worlds colliding, Millar had this to say:

"Without question I think you have to see some of these guys showing up in each other's movies. I think the most exciting thing in superhero movies, until 'The Avengers' came along, was when Nick Fury showed up in 'Iron Man.' Even though it was a guy with an eye patch it was really cool -- and I expect we will see more of that."

But Millar later clarified those statements, saying speculation that we could see the Human Torch in "Days of Future Past" or Wolverine team up with Sue Storm was misguided.

"I keep seeing 'news' that X-Men & FF movies are crossing over," he tweeted. "No, they're not. They exist in same universe but movies stand alone."

Guess we'll have to wait awhile before we see any of the Fox Marvel franchises overlap.
