The "Fifty Shades of Grey" casting rumor mill keeps churning, with "Pacific Rim" star Charlie Hunnam the latest actor finding himself believed to be in the running to play bondage-loving billionaire Christian Grey.
That rumor comes courtesy of Twitch, which reports that producers have their eye on Hunnam to play the title character in the hotly anticipated adaptation of E.L. James's kinky novel. No word yet from Hunnam on the story, though considering everyone from Ryan Gosling to Alex Pettyfer to Robert Pattinson has been reportedly circling the project, we'll wait until we have official word from Universal before we put too much stock in it. (According to Variety, studio insiders claim no casting decisions have been made just yet.)
Also of note in the "Fifty Shades" world is the story that 20-year-old model Cara Delevingne is up for a part, though not female lead Anastasia Steele. The Daily Mail reports that Delevingne is close friends with Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who's married to "Fifty Shades" director Sam Taylor-Johnson, and that Delevingne has already auditioned, with impressive results.
"Sam wants her in the movie -- though which part exactly hasn't been established," a source told the Mail, adding that a role may be written specifically for Delevingne.
Meanwhile, Digital Spy notes that Aaron Taylor-Johnson has already shut down speculation that he could star in his wife's film, saying, "I am not Christian Grey."
The movie is expected to hit theaters August 1, 2014.
