Christina Hendricks is prepared to get dark.
Deadline reports that the "Mad Men" actress has signed on for the movie adaptation of "Gone Girl" author Gillian Flynn's equally mysterious novel "Dark Places." Hendricks will play the older version of Krissi Cates, a down-on-her-luck stripper who's harboring a big secret.
Centered on the brutal murder of the Day family, the film will star Charlize Theron as Libby Day, the grown-up version of the slaughter's lone survivor. Corey Stoll is on board to play Libby's jailed brother Ben, Chloe Grace Moretz will appear as young Ben's teenage girlfriend Diondra, and Nicholas Hoult is set for the role of Lyle.
"Dark Places" is due in theaters next September, with the David Fincher-directed "Gone Girl" slated to hit the big screen in 2015.
