Daniel Radcliffe in Kill Your DarlingsSony Pictures Classics

A movie with Allen Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac, and William S. Burroughs sounds like it has the makings of a rejected literary sitcom. But, in real life, these three knew each other well -- at least before they hit it big.

In "Kill Your Darlings," audiences get a glimpse at the early adventures of the legendary Beat writers, along with a murder that would irrevocably change their lives forever.

The film -- starring Daniel Radcliffe as Ginsberg, Ben Foster as Burroughs, Jack Huston as Kerouac, and Dane DeHaan as their friend, Lucien Carr -- premiered to rave reviews at the Sundance Film Festival this past January. Radcliffe, in particular, received praise for his nuanced portrayal of the "Howl" poet. It's a drastic change from the actor best known as Harry Potter, as he trades in his wizard's cloak for a sweater vest (the black-rimmed glasses remain).

Today, Moviefone is happy to premiere the first poster for "Kill Your Darlings," which you can check out below. The film hits theaters on October 16.
