While "Breaking Bad" star Bryan Cranston's villain credentials are top-notch, a recent report claiming he's set to menace Henry Cavill's Superman and Ben Affleck's Batman as Lex Luthor in the upcoming "Man of Steel" sequel -- as well as future installments in the DC Comics franchise -- is highly questionable, as amazing as that casting coup would be.

According to Cosmic Book News, Cranston, best known for his portrayal of chemistry teacher turned meth kingpin Walter White on AMC's "Breaking Bad," has been tapped to play supervillain Luthor "in what is said to be at least a six 'appearance' deal ... and may be as high as ten."

We want to believe this news, because Cranston is one badass baddie, but we'll save our "Yeah, bitch!" for an official announcement from studio Warner Bros. (Which is unlikely, given that MSN has slammed the rumor as having "not one shred of truth to it.")

But if it does come to fruition, Cranston's Luthor should totally rock Clarks Wallabees.
