"The Great Gatsby"
What's It About? Australian filmmaker Baz Luhrmann's reinterpretation of the famous F. Scott Fitzgerald Depression-era novel is a glamorous and audacious one. The film follows the original story of the Jay Gatsby (Leonardo DiCaprio), mysterious millionaire who throws the most epic parties New York City has ever seen. His new neighbor Nick Caraway (Tobey Maguire) writes about the love and deceit surrounding Gatsby and his old love Daisy Buchanan (Carrie Mulligan) that spins out of control into tragedy.

The Great Gatsby - DVD Clip No.1
Why We're IN: Blending the modern with the classic, Luhrmann's "Gatsby" both showcases the glitter and glamour of the 1920s alongside a modern pop music score. With extravagant CGI and music from Jay-Z to Lana Del Ray, "The Great Gatsby" is unlike any of the film adaptations before it. While Luhramann's film may not stay completely true to the original material, it is a delightfully enjoyable reinvention of a beloved classic. "The Great Gatsby" was one of Moviefone's Best Movie of 2013 (So Far).

"To Be or Not To Be" (Criterion Collection)
What's It About?
This 1942 Ernst Lubitsch ("The Shop Around the Corner") war comedy stars Carole Lombard ("My Man Godfrey") in her final film appearance alongside Jack Benny ("The Jack Benny Program"). The two play a husband-and-wife theater troupe in the Nazi-occupied Poland who get caught up in a soldier's efforts to track down a German spy.
Why We're In: One of the finest and funniest political satires of its time, "To Be or Not To Be" perfectly balances tension and drama with humor. Even today, Lubitsch's witty film will keep you laughing.

"At Any Price"
What's It About?
Dennis Quaid and Zac Efron star in this drama about a modern farming family. Henry (Quaid) wants his son Dean (Efron) to take over the family farming business, but Dean has his dreams set on race car driving. "At Any Price" attempts to give a close look at real life America, but is instead an unfocused melodrama with dull characters.

"Pain & Gain"
What's It About? This Michael bay action flick is everything you'd expect from a Bay film with an added does of goofy fun and some dark humor. Starring Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne Johnson, and Anthony Mackie as three real-life personal trainers in the 1990s, the film follows the story of their kidnapping gone wrong. Yes, "Pain & Gain" is cheesy and outrageous and in-your-face, but that's just what makes it such bad fun. As one of our top movies of 2013 (so far), we recommend it for all its muscles and guns madness.

"Pawn Shop Chronicles"
What's It About?
This "Pulp Fiction," grindhouse-wannabe stars Brendan Fraser, Elijah Wood, Paul Walker, Vincent D'Onofrio, Matt Dillon, and Thomas Jane in a crazy story of a small town pawn shop. Three stories entangle including white-supremacist meth heads, an out-of-luck Elvis impersonator, and a man searching for his kidnapped wife. While the ridiculous characters may sound crazy enough to work, "Pawn Shop Chronicles" tries way too hard to garner any laughs.

"The Reluctant Fundamentalist"
What's It About? Directed by Mira Nair ("Monsoon Wedding"), "The Reluctant Fundamentalist" follows a young Pakistani man, Changez, (Riz Ahmed) recounting his experiences in the U.S. to an American journalist (Liev Schreiber). Changez's dream to be a Wall Street businessman turns dark when he is suspected as an enemy in this thriller also starring Kate Hudson and Kiefer Sutherland. While Admed gives a strong performance, the rest of the film remains deeply flawed and forgettable.

"Scatter My Ashes At Bergdorf's"
What's It About? This fashion documentary by Matthew Miele gives a look at the inner workings and untold tales of the famous Manhattan department store. "Scatter My Ashes At Bergdorf's" features interviews from designers and celebs including Tom Ford, Rachel Zoe, Candice Bergen, Mary-Kate Olsen, Joan Rivers, Vera Wang, and more. While entertaining in parts, Miele's film fails to be a compelling doc by merely name-dropping and listing facts.

What's It About? In this sci-fi-horror film from Roger Christian ("Battlefield Earth"), an isolated military space craft is hit by a rogue meteor storm harboring aliens. Starring Christian Slater, "Stranded" is completely monotonous, cliche, and so terrible that it won't entertain even the biggest sci-fi geeks.

"Super Buddies"
What's It About? A group of young pups discover a set of mysterious rings that grant them special powers in this Disney animated family movie. With voices from John Ratzenberger (every Pixar movie), Jason Earles ("Hannah Montana"), Colin Hanks, Tim Conway ("Air Bud"), and Alyson Stoner ("Cheaper By the Dozen,") this family adventure is perfect for young children.

"The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh"
What's It About? This compilation of three short films features your favorite characters from the Hundred Acre Wood. With additional bonus features and classic songs, "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" is the perfect movie for the whole family to enjoy.

"Q: The Winged Serpent"
What's It About? Larry Cohen's ("It's Alive") fantasy horror follows a dragon-like flying lizard that terrorizes New York City. "Q" pays homage to the great monster movies, but delights most of all with its campy, kitschy pleasures. Starring David Carradine, Michael Moriarty, and Candy Clarke this exploitation B-horror movie is fun and inventive with just the right amount of cheese.
