Former "Sons of Anarchy" actress Taryn Manning totally gets why her onetime co-star Charlie Hunnam -- in her words, a "total babe" -- scored the role of Christian Grey in the upcoming "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie.

"I love Charlie," Manning gushed to E! News of the 33-year-old British actor during a Style Network event in New York City on Sept. 5. "Working on 'Sons of Anarchy' with him, I mean he has a full accent and just watching him act on set, he is amazing."

When told of the backlash over the casting news, a surprised Manning said, "Why? Do you realize every single woman that is my friend is, like, 'Tell me everything about Charlie.' All the time. ... He is just a heartthrob, so I don't understand why anyone would question that casting decision."

The "Orange Is the New Black" star concluded, "I think he is perfect for that part!"

So it's safe to assume Manning won't be signing the Change.org petition to smuggle fan-favorite picks Matt Bomer and Alexis Bledel into the erotic movie as Grey and his young protégée, Anastasia Steele.
