Marvel is making sure that Edgar Wright's "Ant-Man" is poised for maximum box office impact by moving its release date up to July 31, 2015. The Disney blockbuster was originally slated for November 6, 2015, but that date is already clogged with other high-profile releases like the next James Bond movie and the family-friendly "Peanuts" flick from Fox.

Although the summer of 2015 will see plenty of action from the likes of Marvel's "Avengers: Age of Ultron" and the #Batfleck movie, July 31 only has only one major release scheduled so far. That's Tim Burton's adaptation of "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children," and given Burton's recent track record and "Peregrine"'s target audience, it might not be much of a threat. However, Fox is also planning to unleash "Independence Day 2" on July 3, so there's always a chance that sequel could dominate for a few weeks.

While this new release date may not be the best news for Marvel's rival studios, it is welcome news for fans eager for any clue as to who will take on the role of Henry Pym, the scientist who becomes Ant-Man by accident.

"Ant-Man" will likely go into production earlier than previously planned.
