"The Hunger Games" has found the leader of its rebellion.
Julianne Moore is joining the cast of "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay," the two-part franchise finale, as District 13's President Alma Coin, Lionsgate revealed today in a press release, thus confirming Deadline's report from July. Coin becomes a powerful politician during the districts' rebellion against the Capitol, though she clashes with Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence).
Casting for the final two films in the "Hunger Games" franchise has been heating up in recent weeks: Natalie Dormer signed on as film director Cressida, Evan Ross was named as Messalla, and newcomer Stef Dawson was tapped to play Annie Cresta.
Still, there are several big roles to fill -- Coin's right-hand man, Boggs; District 8 leader, Commander Paylor; and cameramen Castor and Pollux.
"The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" hits theaters November 22. "Mockingjay - Part 1" is due out in November 2014.
