GRACE OF MONACO 2013 Weinstein Comnpany film with Nicole KidmanAL

The glitzy "Grace of Monaco" was scheduled for release smack dab in the middle of Oscar season, but now it's been moved to next spring. What does it all mean?!

According to the Hollywood Reporter, "TWC has decided the film needs more time to be completed, and, according to sources, will be released during spring 2014, positioned more as a commercial entry than an awards play."

The film looks like it's got Oscar bait written all over it, with a star-studded cast that includes Nicole Kidman as Grace Kelly. Is it possible that the Weinsteins are suffering from an embarrassment of riches this Oscar season? "Lee Daniels' The Butler" is not only raking it in at the box office, but it's got at least two nom-worth performances from Oprah Winfrey and Forest Whitaker. The adaptation of Tracy Letts' play "August: Osage County" has noteworthy performances from leads Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts. "Fruitvale Station" made a splash at Sundance and Cannes, bringing home the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award for U.S. dramatic film at the former and the Best First Film in the Un Certain Regard section at the latter. Plus, TWC is pushing docs "20 Feet from Stardom" and "Salinger." 2014 is looking bright for the distribution company as well.

"Grace of Monaco" does not have a set release date yet, so stay tuned.
