If you thought everyone on the planet knew who Brad Pitt was, a 90-year-old British veteran is here to prove you wrong.
Pitt's celebrity was recently taken down a peg after an interaction with Peter Comfort, a World War II vet who was called in to consult on Pitt's latest film, "Fury," in which the star plays the commander of a DD Sherman tank crew. Comfort told UK newspaper The Telegraph that he was the last surviving member of his regiment, the Light Dragons, and was asked to help explain conditions in the tank and life in his regiment to filmmakers.
Comfort said Pitt called him personally to invite him to the set, and the veteran said that he was "extremely well treated" on his visit. But there was one thing that puzzled Comfort.
"Mr Pitt was very friendly and charming actually, but I didn't know who he was," Comfort told The Telegraph. "I said to him, 'Until last night I didn't have a clue who you were and then I Googled you and you've been in quite a lot of films.' They all rolled about laughing when I said that."
Considering Comfort's distinguished service to his country, we're going to give him a pass on this one. We're of the mind that most people who reach their 90s can do or say anything they want -- and that includes telling one of the world's biggest stars you've never heard of him.
