Why debut just one "American Hustle" poster when you can debut five?
Moviefone, along with Huffington Post, is debuting five brand-new character posters from director David O. Russell's ("Silver Linings Playbook") upcoming drama, each featuring an Oscar-winning or -nominated star from the movie: Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, Amy Adams, Christian Bale, and Jeremy Renner.
Set in the late '70s (as if you couldn't tell), "American Hustle" tells the scandalous story of con man Irving Rosenfeld (Bale) and his British partner/lover, Sydney Prosser (Adams), who are coerced into working with federal agent Richie DiMaso (Cooper). The pair soon find themselves seduced by the wealth of New Jersey power players and the mafia -- but Irving's wife, Rosalyn (Lawrence), could be the one to end it all.
Each poster (below) offers a glimpse of what we can expect from the movie's compelling cast of characters.
Lawrence, as Rosalyn Rosenfeld, delivers attitude with her updo.
Bale, as Irving Rosenfeld, trades in his Batman bod for a beer belly and receding hairline.
Cooper's well-documented perm is on full display, accessorized perfectly with gold chains and a hint of chest hair, embodying the unpredictable Richie DiMaso.
With her steely gaze and low-cut sequined dress, Adams is a knockout as Irving's lover and partner in crime, Sydney Prosser.
And Renner -- with his furrowed brow, wide tie, and somber suit -- means business as volatile Carmine Polito.
You can catch "American Hustle," which also stars Robert de Niro and Jack Huston, when it hits theaters December 25.
