One of the unexpected pleasures of Robert Rodriguez's forthcoming "Machete Kills" is a brief appearance by Lady Gaga, who is one of several actors inhabiting a role known as The Chameleon. In order to celebrate her very first big screen appearance, a new "Machete Kills" trailer has dropped featuring music from her upcoming album "ARTPOP." We really wish this was actually in the movie.
The trailer features the Gaga song "Aura," which has a slinky, nearly Spaghetti Western feel to it. The clip features several of the movie's most memorable moments, like when Danny Trejo's titular federale electrocutes a guy by sticking his machete into a fuse box, and when he drives a powerboat into a bunch of bad guys.
Who knows if this trailer will sway anyone who was on the fence about seeing the movie, but if you were already jazzed about the prospect of another Robert Rodriguez mex-ploitation epic, then this should get you even more stoked.
In addition to Trejo and Gaga, the impressive cast of "Machete Kills" includes Michelle Rodriguez, Sofia Vergara, Amber Heard, Demian Bichir (who pretty much steals the entire movie), Mel Gibson, Charlie Sheen, Walt Goggins, Antonio Banderas, Jessica Alba, and Cuba Gooding, Jr.
Next week, a full-length music video for the song, comprised of footage from "Machete Kills," will drop. So look out for that too.
The movie is in theaters on October 11th and Lady Gag's album is out exactly a month later.
