"Iron Man" fans hoping that Disney would open a theme park attraction featuring their beloved Tony Stark have finally gotten their wish -- but they'll have to travel to China to enjoy it.
A ride called "The Iron Man Experience" is set to open at Hong Kong Disneyland in 2016, which, according to Variety, "will have guests take flight with Iron Man" and "pits the superhero against alien invaders in the streets and skies of Hong Kong." The ride is being described as similar to the "Star Tours" attraction at other Disney theme parks.
The ride will be part of a larger Marvel-themed area at the park, and will also feature a Disney cast member dressed as Iron Man who'll sign autographs for guests.
"Since Marvel became part of the Disney family, our Imagineers have been dreaming up new ways for our guests to experience their favorite Marvel characters and stories," said Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Tom Staggs.
In the U.S., Disney has integrated Marvel into its parks mostly through displays promoting upcoming films. With the Asian debut of the "Iron Man" attraction, expect that stateside stance to change soon.
