Vin Diesel likes to multitask.

While on the set of "Fast & Furious 7," the actor prepped for his upcoming role as the sentient tree Groot in Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy." Diesel shared a video on his Facebook page of himself walking around set in a pair of stilts.

"I'm getting ready for my motion capture for 'Guardians,' for Groot," he tells some bystanders. He also talks to "Fast 7" co-star Kurt Russell and visits "Guardians" cast member Djimon Hounsou at his trailer.

"My father taught me there are no small roles, only small actors. I only have one line in the movie, but that doesn't mean anything," Diesel says, referring to the fact that Groot's catchphrase, "I am Groot."

"I'm still going to make it the best possible thing I can, even if that means taking Andy Serkis to a whole 'nother level, which is what we're gonna do with our motion capture."

It's puzzling that Diesel is just now practicing for his motion-capture role, since "Guardians of the Galaxy" director James Gunn tweeted that filming had concluded last week. That seems to indicate that Diesel will be digitally inserted alongside cast members Hounsou, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, and Dave Bautista.

"Guardian of the Galaxy" is due August 1, 2014.
