Production on "Fifty Shades of Grey" will get started later than anticipated, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter. The film, once scheduled to start shooting on November 1, will now push its start date to December 2.
A delayed start date had been anticipated ever since former star Charlie Hunnam abruptly departed the picture earlier this month, causing filmmakers to scramble to find a replacement. New Christian Grey Jamie Dornan was cast only last week, making a November 1 start date seem unlikely, as Dornan will have a lot of lines to learn before then.
THR reports that the delay could jeopardize "Fifty Shades"'s anticipated release date of August 1, 2014, since the film would then have to be completed in less than eight months, a daunting demand of any feature.
We'll keep you updated on whatever happens next. Here's hoping all the off-screen drama inspires some major onscreen fireworks.
