Aaron Taylor-Johnson just might be Hollywood's busiest man these days.

The "Kick-Ass 2" star, who recently wrapped the "Godzilla" reboot, has officially signed on to play Quicksilver in Joss Whedon's "Avengers: Age of Ultron."

The Wrap reports that Taylor-Johnson finally signed on the dotted line after working out his "Godzilla" publicity schedule, which had overlapped with shooting on the "Avengers" sequel. The done deal follows months of speculation that Taylor-Johnson was the frontrunner for the role.

The speedy Quicksilver is one of two new characters that Whedon is introducing in "Age of Ultron"; the other is Scarlet Witch, who will reportedly be played by Elizabeth Olsen. Olsen co-stars with Taylor-Johnson in "Godzilla" (Hollywood is a small world).

Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are the twin children of "X-Men" villain Magneto. It's unclear if he'll play any kind of role in this or any future "Avengers" movies.

Whedon is set to begin filming "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" in early 2014 for a release date of May 1, 2015.
