Director Alan Taylor has begun prepping production on "Terminator 5" (despite his self-described "rumored" involvement) and already has several actors and actresses on the short list for lead roles in the reboot.

The Hollywood Reporter writes that Brie Larson ("Short Term 12"), Emilia Clarke ("Game of Thrones"), and Margot Robbie ("The Wolf of Wall Street") are all being considered for the role of a young Sarah Connor, with Larson and Clarke reportedly already lined up to audition for Taylor. Another mystery actress is scheduled to audition alongside Larson and Clarke, though she's not named by THR.
Meanwhile, Taylor reportedly wants Tom Hardy to play John Connor, Sarah's son. Casting for Kyle Reese, John's father, has centered on Garrett Hedlund, with Nicholas Hoult and Taylor Kitsch also in the mix for the part.
"Terminator 5" will be a reboot of sorts, and is being set up as the start of a new trilogy. It will span several decades, with the original Terminator (a returning Arnold Schwarzenegger) tasked with watching over Sarah Connor throughout her life.
Taylor's no doubt busy promoting his latest film, "Thor: The Dark World," so there might not be too much action on the "T5" front for a while. Stay tuned for updates; we'll be back.
