Could Mark Ruffalo's Hulk be the next "Avengers" character due for a spin-off? Original Hulk Lou Ferrigno thinks so.

In an interview with Flicks And The City, Ferrigno, who helped voice the Hulk in "The Avengers," said that Ruffalo is "a great actor" and that Disney has already green-lit a spinoff for his scientist-turned-superhuman character.

"They are doing a Hulk movie, I think after the next 'Avengers,'" Ferrigno told the site.

Screen Rant notes that "Avengers" director Joss Whedon contradicted those claims earlier this year, but Marvel producer Kevin Feige has hinted that the studio would eventually like to see Ruffalo headline his own movie. Ruffalo, meanwhile, has also said he'd be happy to take the lead in a Hulk-centric film, but added that he wasn't aware of plans for any such movie.

As for Ferrigno, the actor said he wants more than a voice role if and when the Hulk movie gets made, playing "something against type, like a general or something."

"If it wasn't for me, the Hulk wouldn't be around today," Ferrigno said.

We're tempted to disagree with that lofty claim, but we wouldn't want to make him angry.
