Magneto may be a super-powerful badass, but even he doesn't always know what's going on!

"X-Men" star Ian McKellen admitted to sometimes being confused about the blockbuster movies in an interview with Entertainment Weekly radio.

"I don't always understand the plots of these films until I actually see them with an audience," he confessed.

Understandable. Consider that "X-Men: Days of Future Past" involves two time periods, Wolverine's time-traveling consciousness, and past and present versions of different characters.

Let's let McKellen try to explain further:

"It's all about going into the past, basically," he said. "And so I don't get to go into the past. I don't think I'm spoiling it by saying that. But we are there in the beginning when the plot is hatched."

Hmm, OK. We'll get it when we see the movie with an audience, too.
