One of our most anticipated movies of next year is Christopher Nolan's science fiction epic "Interstellar," which was co-written by Nolan and his brother Jonathan and originally intended for some up-and-coming director named Steven Spielberg. While the plot specifics are being kept under wraps, it's said to be a tale of space-time travel (and all the warped nuttiness that implies), and will star Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Casey Affleck, and Topher Grace as, presumably, a team of scientists that explore a recently unraveled wormhole. Things are going to get trippy.
While the movie isn't supposed to debut until November 7, 2014, our money is on a teeny, tiny teaser trailer attached to this week's "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" (since both are being released by Warner Bros), and ahead of said teaser is the logo for the film (courtesy of the official website), which is both stark and slightly menacing.
On a related personal note, I was at a party recently with "Interstellar" co-star David Oyelowo, and I didn't bug him about plot details or who his character was. Maybe if I find my own wormhole I can go back in time and pester him.
"Interstellar" is hits theaters November 7, 2014. The countdown starts... now!
