dawn of the planet of the apes trailerFox

Things haven't been going well for the humans in the 10 years since "Rise of the Planet of the Apes." First, a virus ripped through the population, and then the survivors were fighting amongst themselves, because humans are pretty silly that way. Meanwhile, Caesar and his pals have no time for bipedal BS, and they've formed their own nation of sorts.

The new "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" trailer asks: Can one man broker a treaty between them? "Zero Dark Thirty" and (possible) "Terminator" star Jason Clarke plays the guy who's certainly trying. We've gotta give him kudos for heading into the wilderness and going face to face with Caesar's glowering mug to plead their case.

Will Caesar and the other highly evolved apes allow them to at least try to dig themselves out of the ugly world they're living in?

Not without a fight.

Clarke is joined by Andy Serkis as Caesar, plus Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Kodi Smit-McPhee, and Toby Kebbell.

"Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" screeches into theaters July 11, 2014.
