"Terminator: Genesis" (aka "Terminator 5") has its terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger, reprising his famous role), its Sarah Connor ("Game of Thrones" star Emilia Clarke), and its John Conner ("Zero Dark Thirty" actor Jason Clarke).
Now, the movie reboot of the blockbuster franchise is looking for the last main character, Kyle Reese. In the 1984 original movie, Reese was sent back in time to protect Sarah and ended up fathering her son.
Variety reports that Paramount and director Alan Taylor are testing actors for the role next week and has five of the hopefuls' names: Boyd Holbrook ("The Host"), Thomas Cocquerel ("Walk Right In"), Wilson Bethel ("Hart of Dixie"), Sam Reid ("The Railway Man"), and Jai Courtney ("A Good Day to Die Hard").
Paramount wanted an actor with a bigger name, sources tell Variety, but Nicholas Hoult ("X-Men: First Class") and Garrett Hedlund ("Tron") passed on reading. Seems the studio decided to go with relatively new faces instead.
"Terminator: Genesis" is set to hit theaters July 1, 2015.
