edge of tomorrow trailer
It's "Groundhog's Day" ... with aliens.

A new trailer for "Edge of Tomorrow," starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt, lays out the rinse-repeat story of the sci-fi action thriller. Cruise and Blunt play soldiers who are killed just minutes into a battle with alien invaders. But somehow, they both wake up to relive the same day over and over again.

"How many times have we been here?" a weary Blunt asks.

"For me, it's been an eternity," Cruise answers.

But as Blunt trains Cruise each day, and he becomes a better fighter, there's a hope that he can alter the course of events -- and win the battle and preserve their lives.

The trailer is flashy, with lots of explosions, big set-pieces, Cruise riding a motorcycle (of course), and plenty of wry dialogue. You know, your typical Doug Liman movie.

"Edge of Tomorrow" opens in theaters on June 6.
