Rebel Wilson took to Twitter yesterday to show off a quick pic of the gang on the first day of rehearsals for "Pitch Perfect 2," and the tweet snagged thousands of RTs and favorites -- way more effective than a press release, no?
Wilson isn't the first person to tweet behind-the-scenes pics from a new project. Robert Downey Jr., who joined Twitter just in time to start production on "Avengers: Age of Ultron," tweeted a photo from the set yesterday, as did Mark Ruffalo (who is a dreamy dreamboat who often uses his social media account to talk politics and other good stuff). Darren Aronofsky tweeted from the set of "Noah," whereas Hugh Jackman uses TwitterandInstagram to keep fans up to speed on his adventures.
Granted, famous peeps usually have a team to help run their campaigns so it's not like these are all straight from the horse's iPhone, but it's still pretty interesting to pretend you're getting a real backstage look at what it's like to be Wolverine on a press tour.
"Pitch Perfect 2" is due in theaters next year.
