reddit movie suggestionsThere are movie lovers, and then there are movie lovers.

An anonymous Reddit user posted in the /r/movies subreddit that he has been given about two months to live by his doctors, and he asked the Reddit crowd to give him some suggestions on what to watch. "Well I can't do anything else, really. I'm trapped in my house," he wrote.

"I'm 43 and I have a serious heart disease, I've been feeling worse and worse for 2 years now. Currently I'm taking a lot of meds, and I feel okay. I have my friends and girlfriend, they are supporting me. Without them, I would have given up a long time ago," he wrote, later adding, "You guys made my day. Thank you so much. I've seen a lot of these movies, but there's still plenty to watch. I promise I will enjoy my time and try to watch as much as I can," the user posted.

There are a ton of great comments, and not just about movies. Many of the suggestions were classics, but others were more existential in nature, like "The Fountain," "Ikiru," and "2001." There were also plenty of votes for comedies, romances, and TV shows like "Six Feet Under" and "The Sopranos."

The one that's currently most upvoted is a great suggestion for everyone, really. "Ask each of your friends to bring over a movie that they would want you to watch and sit and watch it with them. That way they each get to share a bit of themselves with you while you both spend some time together. Also, they should know what you like better than us!"

Another commenter wrote, "Dude, I have Stage IV sarcoidosis in my lungs, skin, left optic nerve, and brain. 5 and a half years ago I was told I had 5 years, tops. This ornery fart proved them wrong. I've accepted it, too, but still try to be as happy and upbeat as I can...so hang tough. I don't judge others cuz everyone is fighting some sort of battle. Films? Goodfellas and anything with Gary Oldman in it."

Someone else offered to share his/her Netflix account.
